ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent drone attack launched towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Houthi militia.

In a statement on Friday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that Pakistan appreciates the successful interception of the drone which prevented the loss of innocent lives.

“We call for an immediate cessation of such attacks,” he said.

The Spokesperson said that Pakistan reiterates its full support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.

Last Tuesday, the Saudi-led Arab Coalition in Yemen intercepted and destroyed a drone fired by Houti rebels toward the Saudi Arabia’s Southern City of Najran.

“The coalition forces to support the [Yemeni] legitimacy were able to intercept and destroy an explosive-laden drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia,” the Coalition Spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said.

Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said that the drone was fired in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilians in Najran.
