LAHORE: President Barack Obama says the United States wants to further strengthen friendly and trade relations with Pakistan.
This he said while greeting President PML (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif on telephone on his victory in the general elections.
The US President particularly noted the significance of the consecutive democratic elections and transfer of civilian power from one government to the next.
He said his country respects the mandate given to Nawaz Sharif in the elections. He also lauded PML-N chief for bravely running election campaign.
The US President wished early meeting with the PML-N chief.
