ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to bolster the volume of their bilateral trade, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
The understanding was reached when the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held telephonic talks with his Uzbek Counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov on Thursday and discussed the bilateral ties, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy deep fraternal relations, and leadership of both the Countries is committed to further strengthen the bilateral relations.
The foreign minister said that the Inaugural Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will soon be held in Islamabad.
Qureshi further said that Pakistan is committed to continue its reconciliatory efforts for establishment of peace in the region including Afghanistan.
