ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s exports to the United Kingdom have crossed US$ 1 billion in the first six months of any financial year.

Sharing the statistics on Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said that for July-December 2020, Pakistan’s exports to the UK grew by 21% to US$ 1,029 million as compared to US$ 852 million in July-December 2019.

Moreover, in December 2020, these exports grew by 47% to US$ 189 million as compared to US$ 129 million in December 2019.

“I congratulate our exporters for this achievement & encourage them to make efforts to obtain a greater share of the market,” the adviser said.

The adviser said that I also commend the efforts of the Ministry of Commerce’s Trade Officers posted in the UK and urge them to work harder in finding opportunities for our exporters and provide facilitation to our businessmen.

Earlier Abdul Razak Dawood also said that Pakistan’s exports to the United States grew by 27% to US$ 425 million in December 2020 as compared to US$ 334 million in December 2019.

The adviser said that this is the first time that our exports to the US have crossed the US$ 400 million mark for three consecutive months.

The prime minister’s adviser further said that for July-December 2020, the exports to the US grew by 18.4% to US$ 2,412 million as compared to US$ 2,037 million in July-December 2019.
