ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Fisheries Development Board of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) has organized a 10-day “Training of Trainer” Program in Cage Culture Cluster Development Project under the Prime Minister National Agriculture Emergency Program from June 10-19, 2021 at Conference Hall of Fisheries Research Program at NARC in Islamabad.

The Participant of training includes the public and private sector representatives from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.

In her remarks during the Inauguration Session, the Project Director briefed Dr. Safia Mushtaq that this is the first step to develop ‘Master Trainers’ who will impart trainings to 1,200 fish cage farmers, hatchery operators, investors in aquaculture business, and labor force for aquaculture enterprises.

The training includes an orientation session, curriculum development, course standardization, introduction to modern delivery methods and demonstration at farms, etc.

The Fisheries Development Board has a plan to develop skilled human resource for the promotion of cage culture and shrimp farming to increase fish production, economic uplift, and poverty elevation.
