ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that 136 Officers of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have been suspended over their involvement in the issuance of fake identity cards. 

While addressing a News Conference in Islamabad on Monday, the minister reaffirmed the commitment to purge NADRA of black sheep. He said that our effort is to extend the services of NADRA to far-flung areas.

Sheikh Rashid that Online Visa Service for Afghanistan will be launched in three weeks’ time. He told that 20,000 people from Afghanistan have entered Pakistan since August 15.

Responding to a question, the interior minister said that our security personnel are still rendering sacrifices in the war on terrorism. He said that talks will be held with only those elements who surrender their arms and accept the Constitution of Pakistan.

The interior minister further said that an air patrolling system for Islamabad with 12 drones will be inaugurated this week. He also said that 1,000 more personnel will be inducted in Islamabad police.
