ISLAMABAD: Senator Farhatullah Babar said he is disappointed with Fiscal Year budget 2013-14. PML-N needs to give a conceptual framework as PPPP during its five year tenure. In five years Pakistan Peoples Party increased the salaries of government employees by 125 percent whereas inflation rate was eighty percent. He said exports were raised to 25 billion dollars while foreign reserves touched 14 billion dollars.

He expressed the hope that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s name will again be included in the Income Support Programme.

He said without curbing militancy and terrorism economic growth and investment is impossible. He termed yesterday’s attacks on Quaid-e-Azam residency in Ziarat and on female student in Quetta as attacks on the past and future of Pakistan. He said the government must have to address the issue of missing persons since it did not make difference despite the installation of a government of nationalist parties in Balochistan.

Talking about energy crisis‚ he stressed to solve this issue by making structural changes in power sector. He admitted that PPPP government remained failed‚ however‚ they will cooperate with PML-N government to address this issue amicably. He said the cost of production of electricity needs to be curtailed despite increasing the power tariff.
