Islamabad, Pakistan: Newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced an in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security with the participation of Military leadership, DG ISI, Ambassador Asad Majeed, and Secretary of Foreign Affairs to discuss the cypher note sent by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington.

The President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif was elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan by securing 174 votes in the National Assembly on Monday. Shahbaz Sharif was representing the joint opposition while the Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi opted to boycott the Prime Minister’s Election in the last hour.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that the United States wrote a threatening letter to Pakistan and the then opposition was behind a conspiracy against him. First, he said the US wrote a threat letter to him. Then he changed his stance and said that US authorities wrote a letter to the Pakistani Ambassador in Washington. Then he changed his stance again and said that the Pakistani Ambassador wrote a letter to him indicating a conversation with US authorities. Then he again changed the stance and said it was a Demarche sent by the Pakistani Ambassador to Foreign Secretary in Islamabad. His statements were look just like a bundle of lies. The role of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs is under question due to his deep silence over the entire blame game.
