One Pakistan Army Soldier embraced martyrdom when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded on a military convoy in Makeen area of South Waziristan District on Thursday, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The ISPR said that 39-year-old resident of Jhelum Havaldar Muhammad Sanwar was martyred in the unfortunate incident.

It said that the area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists in the area.

Separately, the security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District on May 17 and killed a terrorist.

The ISPR said that terrorist, identified as Terrorist Muhammad Altaf, was killed during an intense exchange of fire.

It said that weapon and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorist who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.

FC Balochistan continues relief efforts in Dera Bugti

Meanwhile, according to the ISPR, the FC Balochistan continues relief efforts in Pir Koh and adjoining areas of Balochistan’s Dera Bugti District.

Sharing the details, the ISPR said that 3,063 were provided medical care by doctors and paramedics, 921 patients were treated for cholera and the remaining were treated for other diseases, while more than 2,000 lab tests were conducted in last 24 hours.

The ISPR said that the provision of safe drinking water to the local population is underway.

It said that the FC Balochistan is assisting the civil administration for exploration and ensuring new water pumps and tube wells.
