PESHAWAR: A 70-year-old leader of the Khyber Agency-based militant group, Ansarul Islam, among four others was killed and seven others were injured in a suicide attack in Pakha Ghulam village here on Monday.
According to police officials, the target of the bomber was Haji Akhunzada, head of the Ansarul Islam (AI), a militant group formed in Khyber Agency to counter the Mangal Bagh-led Lashkar-e-Islam (LI).
They said Akhunzada along with his son-in-law Abidullah and other people were present outside their under-construction house in the afternoon when a suicide bomber blew himself up close to them. The blast killed Akhunzada, his son-in-law Abidullah and a labourer, Muneeb on the spot.
