ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Member of the European Parliament Fabio Massimo Castaldo has underlined the need for immediate help and aid to Pakistan wherein millions of people have been affected by floods.

In a Twitter statement on August 31, Fabio Massimo Castaldo said that the flood in Pakistan has affected most of the Country.

The European Parliament Member wrote that the flood has claimed more than 1,000 lives and displaced more than 30 million. In addition, one million houses are damaged leaving behind millions in need of urgent shelter.

“They need immediate help and aid,” he wrote.

It’s worth noting that on August 18, analyst Tahir Naeem Malik and the Chairman of Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed held an important meeting with Fabio Massimo at the European Parliament in Brussels and gave him a detailed briefing on the flood situation in Pakistan.

The Member of the European Parliament was told that thousands of people have lost their lives as a result of this natural calamity.

Additionally, Pakistan’s agriculture and economy have severely been damaged, he was further told.

It was emphasized to him that without the support of the international community, the government of Pakistan cannot provide relief to the flood victims.
