ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer addressed lawyers of the Islamabad Bar Association at District Courts Islamabad.

The Chief Justice highlighted the jurisdiction of the Federal Shariat Court and its role and importance in Islamization of laws.

Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer stated that the Federal Shariat Court is a unique institution with no parallel in the entire Muslim world, therefore, lawyers, especially those who have studied Sharia and Law, should come forward and play their part for Islamization of laws and upholding the rule of law with the help of Federal Shariat Court.

The Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court further stated that Islam believes in protecting the rights of minorities. Therefore, lawyers must strive to ensure that minorities are given their due rights as Islam is the religion of peace and tranquility.

The Chief Justice also shed light on some of the landmark judgments of FSC, including the Judgment on Riba, surrogacy etc.

The program was attended by a large number of lawyers.
