BlogsHow to Check Your Husband’s Secret Marriage from NADRA?

Marriage is a beautiful concept which ensures a family relationship remains intact and allows a couple to live together willingly for as long as they desire. In almost every religion and region, marriage is conceived as a legal and moral way to develop a binding between a man and woman under a mutual understanding.

In Islam, even more emphasize is placed on marriage for its virtue of strengthening the family system and the faithfuls are persuaded to follow the Sunnah of almost all Prophets.

Though in Islam, it is permissible for a follower to enter into four marriages simultaneously but with certain conditions. However, unlike the Arab World, the concept of getting into more than one marital relationship hasn’t yet widely been acclaimed in Pakistani society.

Therefore, sometimes people indulge into fraudulent practices by having secret marriages, fearing that if they sought a permission from their wives, they would certainly be denied.

In Pakistan, most of marriages are seen ending in a distasteful manner after it comes to surface that the husband was secretly in a marital bond with someone other than his disclosed wife. Therefore, it would be better for anyone to verify as a preemptive measure that whether her would-be groom hadn’t lied to her before tying the knot with a swindler.

In August 2021, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) launched the Qaumi Tasdeeq-o-Tajdeed Campaign (QTTC), enabling the people to have a look at anyone’s family members.

If anyone has a secret marriage and he has registered that in the NADRA, through the QTTC his wife can verify that either he is secretly married or not.

For that, she will just require to send a message at “8009” from any registered mobile number, mentioning the 13-digit CNIC number of her husband and its date of issuance. Within seconds, she will receive a reply with the information of registered family members of her husband with the NADRA.
