PESHAWAR: A police official was killed while his guard and driver were injured on Wednesday in an attack near in Peshawar’s Karkhan Market area.
The slain police official, said to be SHO Hyatabad Meera Jan, was patrolling the area as a Nato supply convoy was passing by when three unknown assailants opened fire on his car, killing the SHO and injuring his gunman and driver.
After firing, the armed men escaped into the busy market.
Police officials are conducting a search operation to arrest the assailants.
The driver and gunman were shifted to the hospital in a critical condition.
