ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the code of conduct for the elections and bye-election on National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats scheduled on August 22.

As per the notification‚ it is directed to all executive authorities in the Federation and Provinces to assist Chief Election Commissioner in the discharge of duties.

It is also directed that governments either in center or provinces will not use State Resources in those constituencies where bye-elections are being held for unfair advantage of any contesting candidate or party. In case of misuse of powers‚ authorities may be tried in session courts.

The commission has also directed President and Prime Minister not to visit the constituencies where elections are being held.

The commission has also barred all governments from making transfers and postings on large scale.

Election Commission has also authorized DCOs and ROs appointed for the conduct of by-elections on August 22nd‚ to exercise the powers of Magistrate first class until the consolidation and announcement of official results.
