Monitoring Desk: Former anchor and vlogger Dr. Moeed Pirzada, who had been detained in the first week of August 2015 in Abu Dhabi for fraudulently obtaining thumb impressions from his father, who was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition looks agitated with Pakistani liberal writers, journalists and politicians for not helping former prime minister Imran Khan.

In his latest article titled “Pakistan’s Imran Khan: Islamist and Anti-Islamist, Playboy and Women Hater?”, Moeed Pirzada writes “Imran Khan’s politics of populism and upheaval has disturbed, threatened, uprooted, and thus mortally injured many entrenched constituencies in Pakistan – and this is not limited to military establishment, Sharif and Zardari dynasties and tribal mullahs like Fazal ur Rehman but also includes traditional English-speaking and chattering classes often referred to as “Liberals”. For him two major political parties –Pakistan People’s Party (PPP- also known as PPPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) are “dynasties” and one of the mainstream right-wing political parties JUI is party of “tribal mullahs”.

Interestingly PPP and JUI are signatory political parties of the 1973 constitution and have a long history of political sacrifices while PMLN had formed government three times in the center and four times in the province of Punjab since 1988.

He writes in his article that “Americans of Pakistani origin are the most educated and skilled segments of the Pakistani nation; they overwhelmingly support political change in Pakistan, which is important for their image and the role they want to play in the larger world“. He also writes “So while 99% of Pakistanis instinctively understand that the assassination attempt on Imran Khan (Nov 2022) was not the act of a lone religious fanatic for any supposed blasphemy but of a trained shooter who was either acting on behalf of elements within the Pakistani establishment or the current government – and for purely political reasons”.

Just the three paragraphs mentioned above are enough to understand what kind of loose, loaded, and unfounded diction and adjectives he uses against his opponents because he has never been a journalist and he does not know even the basic decency a journalist should possess, How can he write that 99% of Pakistan believes this or that? Has he done a survey for this figure by questioning the 240 million population of Pakistan or has he had some sample data collection results?

How can he say that “Americans of Pakistani origin are the most educated and skilled segments of the Pakistani nation”?  Is it, not a careless, contrary to fact and woven statement?

Moreover, how can he bluntly tag two major political parties as “Dynasties” and one of the oldest rightwing parties as “ Tribal Mullah”?

Pirzada has never been accepted as a bona fide journalist by the majority of working journalists because of his lateral entry into journalism with the alleged help of the Pakistani military. The majority of working journalists call him a “paratrooper anchor”, a term being used for all op-ed writers and anchors who directly landed in Pakistani media with the help of the military and had never been a part of any traditional journalistic outlets before their hiring as anchorpersons or op-ed writers.

Piraza once considered a blue-eyed of the Pakistani military is nowadays trying hard to discredit Pakistan Army and is using all infamous dictions being used against the Pakistan Army in the past like the “Military Mullah Alliance”, and he is constantly talking about “Military Commercial Empire” coined by Dr. Ayesha Sadiqa but has yet not used another diction of past that was “Allah America Army” because he is living in United States and does not want to drag America into his calculated campaign against Pakistan Army.

He talks about world history, and Pakistan’s history, politics, psychology etc. His readers expect that someday he will share his history, his marriage, his education, and his former jobs, and will also tell his readers the story of his safe passage from the clutches of UAE law enforcement agencies when he was detained for getting thumb impressions of his father on documents to withdraw the accrued profits and interest from investment certificates valued at about Dh20,000-Dh30,000.

The creation of Pirzada as a journalist is a lesson for the former Pakistani military establishment that they should have chosen a much better and more sane person than Pirzada.
