ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday took suo moto notice of up to 22-hour power outage in FATA and Mohmand Agency.

The Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took the notice on a letter written by Senator Hilalur Rahman, in which he alleged that the area was faced with load shedding even during during Iftar and Sehr timings.

In his letter, he said WAPDA officials have repeatedly been approached to redress the grievances but all proved to be in vain.

The CJ has converted Senator Hilal’s letter into petition and sought reply from National Transmission And Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) officials.
