Meanwhile, Eid Al Fitr moon has also been sighted in Japan and Thursday is the first day of Shaawal.

Muslim scholars in Saudi Arabia appeared split on Tuesday on whether the end-of-Ramadan moon should be sighted on Tuesday, which marks 28 days of the fasting month.

In Pakistan, the chances of sighting the moon on Thursday are extremely high in Sindh and Balochistan.

Eid in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh is likely to be celebrated on Friday.

This is the occasion of gaiety and enjoyment and Muslims across the world celebrate the festival in style.

Eid is very different from other festivals celebrated by followers of other religions. Eid Al Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawal, to mark the end of a month long fast during the month of Ramadan.

Around the world, Eid is celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor and Muslims from all walks of life can be seen adorned in beautiful new clothes, visiting the mosques to attend Eid prayers.

Greetings of “Eid-Mubarak” or “Happy Eid” are exchanged. A very important aspect of Eid is the charity, which all the Muslims are expected to extend to the needy.
