LAHORE: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has lost three seats from Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Okara in by-elections, which it grabbed in May 11 general elections.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Ahmed Ali Dreshak was declared as successful with 22, 040 votes from PP-243, Dera Ghazi Khan, which was deserted by N-League stalwart Zulfiqar Khosa. However, his two sons—Hassam Khosa from PML-N and Saif Khosa from PPP contested the by-polls in the constituency, giving benefit to the PTI candidate.

Similarly, PP-247, Rajanpur, vacated by Hamza Shahbaz, was taken by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Raza Khan Dreshak with 48,633 votes; while, PML-N’s candidate Abdul Qadir lagged far behind with 35,177 votes.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khurram Jahangir emerged as victorious with 41426 votes from PP193, Okara, followed by PML-N’s Nurul Amir with 25,459 votes.
