CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) has dissolved all its central‚ provincial and district level party organizations, the party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan announced on Saturday.

The party would go through a massive reorganization in light of a fact finding report after the May 11 elections, Wali said at a news conference on Saturday.

“We went back to our workers and we are initiating ANP’s reforms as per the suggestions of our members everywhere,” he said.

The ANP chief announced that an interim committee had been formed until intra-party elections will held in February 2014. He added that new office bearers would be elected during the elections through secret ballot.

“Party elections and all other organisational activities will take place strictly according to ANP’s constitution,” the party chief said.

The ANP chief said his party had accepted the results of the general elections despite rigging allegations for the sake of democracy.

Wali further said that the ANP’s election campaign was hampered by terrorism.

Moreover, he also endorsed the decision to hold dialogue with the Taliban saying that he had no issue if a solution could be sought through talks.
