ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over a report regarding the Sabzi Mandi extortion and directed Inspector General Police Islamabad and SHO Sabzi Mandi Police Station to submit a fresh report on next hearing of the case.

Earlier, the IHC Justice Shaukat Siddiqui resumed hearing of the Sabzi Mandi extortion case during which Deputy Commissioner‚ Inspector General Police Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) submitted a joint report in the court saying that extortion has completely been eliminated in Sabzi Mandi area.

The IHC Justice enquired from the police why and what for vegetables and fruits were being supplied to the CDA officers free of cost.

The court acceding to the request of over 10 shopkeepers of the Islamabad Sabzi Mandi to become a party in the extortion case, called for a new report from IG police and SHO Sabzi Mandi Police Station on next hearing of the case.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing of Sabzi Mandi extortion case till October 4.
