ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday denied media reports that it had withdrawn its notification regarding the increase in power tariffs.
Earlier, various TV channels reported that the Ministry of Water and Power canceled notification of increase in power tariffs on the instruction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
However, the government spokesman denied these reports and said that the federal government will present its opinion regarding hike in power tariffs in the Supreme Court on Friday.
