ISLAMABAD: An application has been filed in the Islamabad High Court, asking it to put the name of former president Pervez Musharraf on the exit control list (ECL), a day after he was granted bail in Baloch nationalist leader’s murder case.
Haroon Rasheed, son of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi who was slain in Lal Masjid operation in Islamabad, filed the application and he prayed before the court that the former president should be stopped from travelling abroad as he was allegedly involved in the murder of his father.
Rasheed asserted in his application that if Musharraf went abroad it would be difficult to bring him back.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday accepted Mushrraf’s bail plea in a case pertaining to veteran Baloch politician Nawab Akber Bugti’s murder. Afterwards, Musharraf’s counsel said that his client is a free citizen now and that he can travel to Dubai to meet his mother.
