ISLAMABAD: Defence Secretary Lt-Gen (retd) Asif Yaseen Malik will be indicted on November 4 for contempt of court by the Supreme Court of Pakistan over his failure to hold local bodies elections in cantonment boards across the country.

In its ruling on Friday, the apex court said that contempt charges against the Defence Secretary will be framed on 4th of next month.

On Tuesday, Defence Secretary tendered his unconditional apology to the court and expressed regret over his failure to hold local government elections in cantonment areas.
