ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that Pakistan is extending every possible help in maintenance of peace in Afghanistan, adding that a stable Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan.

The prime minister made these remarks while talking to a four-member delegation of Afghan Peace Council led by Sallahuddin Rabbani in Islamabad on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed security situation in the region including Afghanistan. They also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation for peace following the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan.

The prime minister’s advisor on foreign affairs and national security Sartaj Aziz and special assistant Tariq Fatemi were also present in the meeting.
