ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Wednesday was informed that there will be no gas load shedding for the domestic consumers during this winter as the domestic sector has been placed at the highest priority in terms of provision of gas.
This was stated by the Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahzadi Umarzadi Tiwana while speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Wednesday during question hour.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that gas supply to textile sector will be enhanced in the months of March and April next year depending upon the improvement in temperature.
In reply to a question regarding the inauguration of TAPI gas pipeline project‚ she said that the selection of the consortium is currently in progress which will be responsible for implementation of the project including financing.
Shahzadi Umarzadi Tiwana said that the target for first gas flow from the TAPI gas pipeline project is December 2017.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that that the gas price of the project has not yet been determined but assured that this will be cheaper than Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.
