KARACHI: Eight people including two activists of the Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) were gunned down in the city as targeted violence continued to claim more lives in the city on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 23 October, 2012.
According to police sources, four armed men on two motorcycles killed two workers of the ASWJ near Soldier Bazar No-2 while they were sitting at their Pan Shop.
While another two workers of the ASWJ were injured when four gunmen opened fire on them with sophisticated weapons at an oil shop near the Landi Kotal Chowrangi in the Taimuria police limits.
A head constable of the police’s Special Branch was also shot dead at Napier’s timber market in the morning, police said.
In another incident, two men on a motorcycle gunned down the owner of a cosmetics shop in Jamali Goth, Sohrab Goth. Likewise, the owner of a milk shop was murdered by the firing of three men on motorcycle in Gutter Baghicha, Pak Colony. While one other person man was shot dead in Block-M, North Nazimabad.
A doctor was also killed by two gunmen at his Clinic near the Usmani Masjid. In another incident in the Saeedabad police remits, one person was shot dead by two armed motorcyclists near the Basheer Masjid in Baldia Town No-8-B.
Likewise, two people were killed and three others injured during a clash between Lyari gangsters and another group on the Kalakot police limits.
