KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday nominated Moin Amir Pirzada for the top opposition slot in the Sindh Assembly, the party also filed an application for allotment of opposition benches in the house, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
The sources said the MQM provincial lawmakers held a meeting with acting speaker Shehla Raza on Wednesday and submitted an application for allotment of opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly.
The nomination paper of Moin Amir Pirzada as opposition leader in the house was also submitted by MQM MPAs. Earlier, the party had nominated Syed Sardar Ahmed as opposition leader.
The acting speaker assured the MPAs that they would soon be allotted opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly while notification for Moin Pirzada’s appointment as opposition leader would also be issued.
