KARACHI:  The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar said on Wednesday that his party parted ways with the government for the sake of peace in Karachi, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Talking to media in Karachi, he said socalled Liyari Ammon Committee is involved in distrubing peace in the city which is hub of economic activities in the country.

Farooq Sattar said if voted to power MQM will take forward the country into 21st century in real sense.

MQM leader said his party will not go in to any electoral alliance but opt for seat adjustment with like minided parties.

Sattar urged the election commission to ensure an atmosphere in which people can cast their votes without any fear and hindrance, adding that MQM  will contest elections across the country.

MQM leader said that resignation of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan will be discussed with MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain. He said consultations are underway about name of caretaker Prime Minister.
