PESHAWAR: At least 16 militants were killed in an operation carried out by the security forces in Tirah valley of Khyber tribal region on Tuesday, the security sources said.
The sources said that during the operation eight militants were also injured, while their five hideouts were destroyed.
Earlier in the day, Pakistani fighter jets pounded several suspected militant hideouts in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan agency, killing up to 40 people and injuring several others.
