Altaf Hussain's life is in serious danger: MQM

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain’s life is in serious danger, a statement issued by the party stated on Thursday.

According to the statement, the MQM chief said that a conspiracy is being hatched against him and he asked the party workers to remain vigilant.

The MQM chief said that he will not bow to any international power. He said that fake cases are being framed against him at international level.

Altaf Hussain said that if some harm comes to his life, the MQM workers should continue to follow the path of righteousness.

On Wednesday, a BBC news report identified the names of two suspects in the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq, a senior leader of the MQM, who was stabbed outside his home in Edgware, London on September 16, 2010.

The report said that the two suspects in the killing of Dr Imran Farqooq were identified by the names of Mohsin Ali Syed and Muhammad Kashif Khan, who hailed from Karachi and were staying on student visa in England.

It added that the British Crown Prosecution Service had officially asked the Pakistani officials to search for the two most wanted suspects in the killing of MQM leader. Subsequently, the Pakistani officials provided them the documents, which contained information about the suspects.

The Pakistani suspects reportedly boarded a plane to Sri Lanka from London’s Heathrow airport on the same day the MQM leader was killed. It was alleged that Kashif Khan had come to England just days before the murder of Dr Imran Farooq.
