KARACHI: The additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Shahid Hayat on Friday ordered an investigation into the killing of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers in Karachi.
Earlier in the day, the MQM announced to observe a day of mourning on Saturday to protest against the extra-judicial killings of its workers.
In a press conference with other members of the MQM Rabita Committee at party headquarter 90 in Karachi, the MQM leader Haider Abbas Rivzi said that extra-judicial killing of party workers was being carried out and demanded human rights groups to take notice of these killings.
Meanwhile, the MQM leader Nasreen Jalil said that Karachi police chief Shahid Hayat should be nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) of party activists’ killing.
