PESHAWAR: The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) political shura held a meeting in North Waziristan tribal region and decided a temporary and conditional ceasefire with the government in a bid to help peace talks to continue successfully, the sources said.
The sources said that the announcement of the decision is expected soon. Moreover, during the meeting, the shura also expressed reservations on some of the members of the government’s committee and demanded for release of unarmed prisoners.

Meanwhile, the chief coordinator of the government’s negotiating team Irfan Siddiqui called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Sunday and briefed him about the latest updates of talks held by his committee with the Taliban negotiators.
The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was also present on the occasion.
