BEIRUT: At least five persons were killed and 80 others sustained injuries when two suicide blasts occurred in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Wednesday.
The suicide car bombings took place in the southern Bir Hassan neighborhood near the Iranian Cultural Chancellery and the Kuwaiti Embassy.
The al-Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for the blasts, saying they would continue their attacks against Iran and Hezbollah.
