Russian deputies demand prosecution of Mikhail Gorbachev
Moscow: A group of Russian deputies have demanded the Attorney General of the Russian Federation of the country to start criminal cases against those who were responsible for disintegration of former USSR including last Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.  Many politicians consider Gorby as a CIA agent who mostly spend his time in United States now after breaking former USSR. His foundation is also funded by US organisations.

Duma deputies argue that Soviet citizens in a referendum voted in favor of maintaining unity of the state ( of USSR) but top Soviet leaders committed illegal acts that caused the collapse of the country and all these leaders should be tried for criminal act including the last Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
According to the newspaper “Izvestia”, the request to conduct a prosecutor’s check the events that occurred during the collapse of the Soviet Union, prepared by representatives of the lower house of the State Duma Yevgeny Fyodorov, Anton Romanov (both – “United Russia”), Ivan Nikitchuk, Oleg Denisenko (both – the Communist Party) and Michael Degtyarev (LDPR).
Addressing the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika deputies argue that Soviet citizens in a referendum in favor of maintaining unity of the state, and top Soviet leaders committed illegal acts that caused the collapse of the country. Deputies indicated that on November 4, 1991 the State Security Prosecutor General of the USSR initiated a case against Gorbachev, but the next day the case was withdrawn under pressure to abolish the relevant decree. Gorbachev is accused of creating the USSR State Council and chairing this institution, which was not stipulated by the Soviet Constitution as a government authority. It was the State Council that adopted orders on recognizing the independence of Baltic Soviet republics, although such decisions could not be made even by legitimate authorities.
