Zero chance of success of quadripartite talks being held in Geneva today

Kiev: There is zero chance of success of talks between foreign ministers of Ukraine, Russia, European Union and the United States over Ukraine that are starting today on April 17 in Geneva as Ukrainian delegation wants to confirm that Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine.

US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Geneva with an understanding that Russia will not accept Ukrainian viewpoint over Crimea so US and EU will have to announce more sanctions on Russia once quadripartite talks in Geneva fail. Ukraine is not ready to move an inch from it position over Crimea as still consider Crimea as its integral part.

“We want Russia to withdraw their troops from the eastern borders of Ukraine. We want Russia to not support the terrorist activities in the eastern regions of Ukraine. We want to confirm that Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine,” announced Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsia.

European observers believe that US and EU delegates are coming to Geneva with a pack of sanctions as the US already worked out over new sanctions punishing Russia for its actions in Ukraine as early as Friday in the likelihood of no big breakthrough in Geneva.
