KABUL: A service member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was killed in an attack by enemy forces in southern Afghanistan, bringing the number of US-led troops killed in the war-ravaged country so far this month to 11.
The US-led international coalition confirmed the death on Thursday. However, the coalition did not provide further details on the incident which occurred on Wednesday.
As many as 40 foreign soldiers including 29 Americans have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
