Zarb-e-Azb: seven Uzbek militants, two army personnel killed

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: At least seven Uzbek militants were killed during clearance of Miranshah Dattakhel road while two army personnel including Subedar Mashkoor and Lance Naik Zaheer also embraced Shahadat as the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ continues.

In a statement on Monday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Miranshah, Mir Ali, Degan, Boya and Dattakhel areas of the North Waziristan tribal region have been cleared of militants during the operation.

However, it said, there is resistance in areas of Momin, Gul Ziarat and Darpakhel between Miranshah and Mir Ali.  It further said that there is also resistance in Tappi, Spalga and area south of river Tochi.

The ISPR said that as many as 75 rockets were recovered during search operation in Shahbazkhel, in the suburb of Mir Ali. In addition, landmines, chemical and propaganda material were also recovered.
