Islamabad: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) leadership claimed on Sunday that member of National Assembly belong to PTI have resigned from parliament. However Speaker of national Assembly office confirmed that no resignation from any PTI member of parliament has been received by this office.
It may be mentioned that PTI leader Shah Ahmed Qureshi on Monday that decision was taken on Sunday night. He claimed that PTI member have resigned from national Assembly.
PTI vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while talking to media persons here said:
“We are resigning from National Assembly, Punjab Assembly, Sindh Assembly, and Balochistan Assembly.”
He said, for the time being, his party is not resigning from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, as there is a coalition government in the province and the allies will have to be taken into confidence before making such a big decision.
Shah Mehmood said the decision to quit provincial cabinet of KP will be taken after holding consultations with the coalition partners.
PTI members have not resigned from National Assembly and resignations have been submitted to Assembly Secretariat. On Wednesday, National Assembly Secretariat and Speaker National Assembly office denied such news items and maintained that no resignation of any member of PTI has been received so far.
