Nawaz Sharif rules out use of force against protesters, says his resignation to lead country towards another crisis

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ruled out any use of force against the protesters and said the government even cannot think about it.

In a meeting with the senior journalists in Islamabad on Thursday, the prime minister reiterated the resolve to resolve the political crisis through dialogue.

The prime minister said that the government was ready to launch dialogue and is still committed for it to defuse the crisis. He said that the country could not afford current situation as the crisis could harm the country.

Sharif said that the majority of political parties in the parliament have given their support to his party during the current political crisis.

“Out of the 12 political parties in Parliament, 11 have given their support to our party and the democratic process,” the prime minister said.

The premier said that today all political forces are on the same page and the government will fully respect the mandate of the people.

Nawaz Sharif also rejected the demand of his resignation and said this will lead the country towards another crisis. He said that nobody in the country supports the illegal and extra-constitutional agenda of two political groups.
