ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday following his meetings with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri.
The sources said that the army chief, who has assumed role of mediator to help end the political crisis roiling the country for the last 15 days ,will discuss his meetings with Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri.
They further said that following the meeting, the government’s representatives will meet Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri after which a written agreement will be signed.
COAS holds separate meeting with Imran, Qadri; discusses solution of political crisis
The PTI leader Imran Khan and the PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri held separate meetings on late Thursday night with the COAS General Raheel Sharif at the army house in Rawalpindi.
During the meetings, they discussed the possible solutions of the prevailing political crisis.
Earlier, both the political leaders had extended their deadlines for any next agitational moves after receiving a message from the COAS.
The army chief had offered them his role as arbitrator and guarantor between them and the government to resolve the two week long political crisis which has badly affected the normal life of the people and the national economy.
