LAHORE: Federal Minister Sheikh Waqas Akram on Thursday announced to join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
Akram announced his decision at a joint press conference with Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif after a one-on-one meeting with him.
“I rule out the impression of being an opportunist, the fact is that my grievances have been addressed by the PML-N leadership and now I feel happy to be the part of this party,” said Akram who was a senior Vice President of The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and part of the outgoing federal cabinet as Minister of State for Labour and Manpower.
“There has been a lack of communication between me and the PML-N,” Akram said.
On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif hailed the PML-Q stalwart’s joining, claiming that Akram has no ‘taint’ of corruption.
