Canada to give $6.7 million for FATA students

BANNU, Pakistan: The Canadian government has agreed to provide $6.7 million for the welfare of students from the federally administrated tribal areas (FATA).

The sources of the FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) said that this amount will be spent on nutrition programme for students in Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, South Waziristan and Kurram agencies.

As many as 200,000 students in these agencies are benefiting from the nutrition programme being implemented by the World Food Programme. These students are being provided food items including biscuits and edible oil in schools.
