PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A remote-controlled explosion occurred in Tirah valley of the Khyber tribal region on Saturday that left three members of a local peace committee dead.
The sources said that the peace committee members were trying to expel militants from their area when the blast took place.
Earlier, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), about 50 to 60 militants tried to attack a check post in Khyber agency’s Spin Qamar area.
However, the security forces effectively responded to the attack and killed 17 militants in an exchange of fire with them.
