KARACHI, Pakistan: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Saturday announced monetary policy for two months with reduction in the policy rate by 50 basis points to 9.5 per cent with effect from Monday, says a report published by Radio Pakistan.
The decision was taken by the central board of directors of the SBP at its meeting held under the chairmanship of Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra in Karachi.
The limited impact of floods and a favorable trend in global commodity prices are the major highlights of the post-September monetary policy decision.
The meeting noted the inflation a came down sharply during the last month.
