Pakistan, Afghanistan coordinating to check terrorist incidents: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that both Pakistan and Afghanistan would continue sharing information to check terrorist incidents.

In an interview, the adviser said that Pakistan will not allow any country to use its land against Afghanistan. Likewise, it is hoped that Afghanistan will also not give permission to any country to use their soil against Pakistan.

The adviser further said that all out efforts are being made to resolve the matters with Afghanistan through talks.

In reply to a question about the issue of Afghan refugees, Sartaj Aziz said that talks are underway to settle the problems amicably.

Pak-Afghan parliamentarians dialogue begins in Islamabad

Meanwhile, a two-day Pak-Afghan parliamentarians dialogue is beginning in Islamabad from Tuesday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral parliamentary contacts.

The event is co-hosted by the Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence and Parliamentary Friendship Group on Afghanistan.

The dialogue has been organized by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) as part of its Pakistan-Afghanistan parliamentarians’ exchange.
