ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has requested the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to constitute two task forces for looking into giving overseas Pakistanis a right to vote and the possibility to introduce an electronic voting system for next general elections.

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Monday after a meeting with the CEC Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Imran Khan said that electronic voting system will help ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

“We need to improve electoral process, so that we go into fair and transparent polls next time,” Imran said.

The PTI chairman also said that seven million Pakistani people are living abroad and contributing greatly to the national economy through their remittances.

Earlier during his meeting with the CEC, Imran Khan demanded that the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq be suspended till investigation into the alleged rigging in the NA-122 constituency is complete.

His meeting with the CEC was aimed at to apprise him about the PTI’s concerns about alleged manipulation in the general elections held in May 2013.
