Nawaz lauds PAF’s role in Zarb-e-Azb, NAP implementation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.

During the meeting, both the leaders discussed professional matters relating to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

The prime minister said that the federal government will continue providing funds for the capacity building of the PAF.

Sharif lauded the role of the PAF in the operation Zarb-e-Azb, a military operation launched in June last year against foreign and local militants in the country’s restive northwestern tribal region.

The premier also appreciated the role played by the air force in implementation of the 20-point anti-terror national action plan (NAP) adopted in the wake of deadliest terror attack on army public school in Peshawar on December 16 last year.

The air chief also apprised the prime minister on various upgradation programs of the PAF which will enable them to meet security challenges in the future more effectively.
