ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed the resolve that Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used against any other country.

Talking to a delegation of the European Parliament at the PM House in Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minister said that Pakistan attaches importance to its relations with the European Union countries.

The prime minister said that Pakistan’s exports to EU markets have surged to over $one billion as a result of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Plus status.

Nawaz Sharif also called for resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

British Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General meets the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Separately, the British Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude also called on the prime minister in Islamabad.

During talks with the British minister, Sharif said that both Pakistan and Britain enjoy strong relations and high level exchanges between the two countries are hallmark of the relationship.

The prime minister informed him that his government has started the process to introduce reforms in the civil service in view of the challenges faced by the country.

Sharif also apprised the British minister about the adoption of a 20-point anti-terror national action plan.

On the occasion, the British minister said that use of latest technology in the civil service is imperative in order to live up to the expectations of the people.
