ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An additional sessions court in Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for former President Pervez Musharraf in a case relating to the killing of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi in the 2007 military operation.
The arrest warrant was issued by the additional sessions court judge Wajid Ali Khan while hearing the case in Islamabad on Thursday.
During the course of hearing, Musharraf’s counsel submitted an application in the court requesting complete exemption for the former president from appearing in the court as he was not well.
However, the judge rejected the exemption plea and issued a non-bailable arrest for Musharraf over his failure to appear in the court despite repeated summons.
The judge also cancelled Pervez Musharraf’s surety bond worth Rs100,000 which was submitted in the previous hearing.
Later, the hearing of the case was subsequently adjourned to April 27.
